Dear Mum and Dad,

It's been a long tiring day but we are all safe and sound.
Don't worry about us because when we come back, we will be more grown up.

We are going for our supper now- Hot Milo! Whee!

Dear Mum, thank you for all your delicious meals over the years.

Dear Dad, thank you for working hard to provide me with the best I ever wanted.

I miss you all but I'm glad that I am in Victoria.
The teachers are strict but fun and constantly remind us to be grateful.

I am confident that when I grow up, I will be able to take good care of you both.

Final words of the day from our Camp Commandress- Miss Sheikha

This is the first time in the history of VS that we have had a female Camp Commandant....eerrr I mean Camp Commandress

At the moment, the time is 11.18pm,

The boys have had their supper and Miss Sheikha- our little dynamite Camp Commandress has a few words to say to the boys:


Even after dismissing our boys, our fiery chilli padi female dynamo is co-ordinating final details with the Form Teachers to ensure that all boys are accounted for.


With such a lovely yet 'garang' Camp Commandant, you can be sure that our boys will really enjoy the camp!

My first night away from home....

Well, I'm sure all the husbands and fathers will remember their days camping in school or in NS: building bashas out of groundsheets, hammering tent pegs into the ground.

Nowadays, technology and affluence has allowed us to enjoy material comforts even in the outdoors.

Some of the boys will be sleeping in Loghouses:



While others have been given modular tents: yup, it's the hi-tech one that doesn't need any hammering of pegs- just plug the frame into the groove and voila, you got instant tent!



We will rotate the boys tomorrow night so that they get to experience both types of accomodations.

We are going to be breaking for supper soon. After that, we'll get all the boys to bathe and then head straight to bed because they have all got a long day tomorrow :)

Pastoral Care and Guidance-- Anti-Bullying

One of the common issues facing teens today is the way bullying has manifested in different forms. Apart from physical bullying, we see phenomenon such as 'happy slapping', cyber bullying and intimidationg, identity theft.

While we believe that all Victorians have an innate sense of right and wrong and are unlikely to committ these acts; we also believe in empowering them with the skills to cope with these situations such that they will be able to take the necessary steps to protect their dignity and personal safety and not be victimised.

Hence, our Full-Time School Counsellor, Mdm Tasmine Tham hss designed a package for all Form Teachers to deliver to the classes

Dear parents we have concluded our Outdoor Activities for the day.

Let us go the distance ...

Victoria School has a long tradition of excelling in Track & Field as well as Cross-Country.

We managed an unparalleled feat of taking either the B or C Div title continuously for 19 years (in some years, taking both titles!)

Led by our PE Teacher Mr Tan Chong Kiat, himself an Ex-Victorian, Cluster 1 went for an evening jog along Changi Coast


The boys gave their best and we can definitely see them pushing on to become stronger and tougher.








It doesn't matter whether you are fast or slow, what matters to us is that we finish the journey once we set out and cross the finish line in our own time, in our own way.

Never say die!

Here we see Matthew, who had a hair-line fracture in his arm from soccer.
Despite this, Matthew courageously came along for the camp.

We the teachers would like to commend his courageous spirit.
Our lovely Camp Commandant, Miss Sheikha was so impressed with him that she gave him a million dollar autograph!

During the course of this camp, our Form Teachers will take the time to get to know their students and implant the core values of our school in the boys.

Sports Testing for Sec 1C

VS has long prided itself on its niche areas of Track & Field and X-Country.
Here during our Sec 1 Orientation Camp, we put our boys through various stations of sports testing so that we can discover any hidden raw athletic talents in our Sec 1

Lunch Time!

We see our Camp Leaders serving lunch and encouraging our Sec 1 boys to eact their vegetables.



Today's Lunch Menu consists of:

and Watermelon

Belay School

The belay school is an important part of all climbing activities.
Here we teach climbers how to put on their safety gear, the various commands and procedures for climbing.

Our EFI Alan Foo from Camelot Adventure is taking our boys through the belay school safety briefing:

Safe and Sound

As of 12.11pm, the boys have all arrived safe and sound at Changi Coast MOE Adventure Campsite.

Sec 1B was the first class to reach the campsite:

Here the boys are waiting patiently while their teachers check attendance


Weather is cool with temperature from 23-30 degrees celsius.
The sea is calm and tide is high, so those doing kayaking will be able to do their launch off easily.

Morale is high and from the shy Primary school kids there are start to bond and become more outgoing. Listen to them cheer as they bond together as fresh Victorians


In a short while, we will have our Belay School safety briefing to prepare the campers for the climbing activities later.

Here we are all ready to go.

Our Sec 1 Classes are all accounted and ready to move out to East Coast Park.



Thier first rest stop will be just after the East Coast Hawker Centre where they will have a series of team-building games.
The first game is called Human Centipede where the boys will have to form a tight knit circle such that they can sit on each others lap and move as a group.

Their next check point will be just after SPARKC, here they will be doing 2 team-building activities: Helium Straw and Mat Flip:
